| Friends of Saugatuck-Douglas District Library is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a partnership between the library and the community. |
 |
The Friends also fund many vital library needs that are beyond the library’s budget, such as the renovation of the Children’s Room and Young Adult areas. Computers, software, books and materials, the children’s summer reading program, staff professional memberships and seminar fees, and the library newsletter are also funded by the Friends.
Funds are currently being raised for a much-needed new circulation desk and staff work area to complete the renovation of the upper floor of the library.

Don’t forget the Well Read Bookstore, in the annex west of the library, run by Friends. The bookstore offers an affordable selection of books and is open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (check for expanded summer hours). Donations of books are tax deductible and accepted during store hours only.

Friends provide hundreds of volunteer hours for the library each year – 420 hours in 2008 alone!
Friends of Saugatuck-Douglas District Library membership dues help the library offer exciting programs and projects not supported by tax dollars. Become a Friend today!
